Best Shot Film Festival is designed for you to submit your best films for critique and competition, in a live-screened and live-streamed event. No theme rules, no category restrictions and any film can win. All we want is your best filmmaking effort.
We’ve all been there: you’ve made some amazing stuff, but it just hasn’t found the success you were hoping for. That’s where we come in! For this, our inaugural festival, submit your best films - from the 2025 calendar year, or from your back catalogue - for judging with clear criteria that appraises any type of film. Any genre, any style, and any length 10 minutes or under. This isn’t just your second shot, it’s your BEST SHOT!

While all three judges will appraise every finalist on artistry, execution and impact, each individual judge will have a specific background related to the “artistry,” the “execution” and the “impact” of film/filmmaking.
*The Judging Panel will appraise the Open finalist films only; Student finalist films will be appraised by the Best Shot Film Festival team.

Charlotte Grimmer
Best Shot Film Festival is proud to announce the host of our inaugural screening event: actor, writer, comedian and social media personality, Charlotte Grimmer!
Graduating from NIDA in 2020, Charlotte recently toured her critically acclaimed one-woman musical comedy show "Initial Consult", receiving a number of 4 and 5 star reviews from the Edinburgh, Adelaide and Sydney Fringe Festivals. She is a passionate improviser and trained at The People's Improv Theatre in NYC and Improv Theatre Sydney.
You may also have seen Charlotte's satirical online content, that has gained her over 200k followers across both TikTok and Instagram. Her comedy showcases a variety of characters born from social observations and lived experiences with mental health and eating disorder recovery. Charlotte has written a parody musical and is currently working on producing it, on the back of being awarded the Mental Health Commissioner SA Adelaide Fringe Grant.
